 Diane is a 2020 recipient of the “Artist of the Future” Award by Contemporary Art Curator Magazine for her Birch Tree Series. Her inspiration comes from places she has lived or traveled. Those brief take away moments end up as the visual memory of seasons spent with connections to man’s influence on nature and our surroundings. Diane grew up in Michigan earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Michigan State University. Following an Artist in Residence, membership in local Gallery and a graduate assistant-ship for Studio Art Studies at the University of London, Diane moved to the Northwest. Her work in Washington has included ten years in Layout Design, Art Docent coordination in public schools and ten years of teaching High School Drawing and Graphic Design. These experiences and her efforts to capture the essence of nature have resulted in a series of illustrations with maps and colored collagraphs on black paper. Diane’s art has been exhibited in juried shows throughout Western Washington to include Northwind Art Center in Port Townsend, Schack Art Center in Everett, Bemis Building in Seattle, as well as City Halls, and Collaborative galleries in the greater Puget Sound area and Olympic Peninsula.
