Sketchbooking with Nature by Artist Laurie Kathleen Clark
Class is intended for individuals age 16 and up
Class size is limited to 15 people
This workshop will be held on Saturday, July 18th from 10AM to 4PM
Location: American Legion Post 79, 38625 SE River Street, Snoqualmie, WA 98065
Laurie will guide us through the process of creating a sketchbook of the Robin.
During the class, you will learn to use watercolor paints to document interesting and remarkable facts about birds in your foldable sketchbooks. You will paint the Robin’s feathers, the type of nests they build, and what their eggs look like. You will explore ways to make your pages more interesting. You will explore how to make quick sketches and renderings about your bird.
In addition to the in-person lessons, you will receive a QR Code to access a list of supplies, a downloadable PDF version of class information, 4 bonus demonstrations on YouTube, a file of reference images to use later to complete your sketchbook. It is expected that you may only complete 3-4 pages in your sketchbook during class. The rest of the pages will take more time and will be up to you. All materials needed for this class will be provided.

I love the natural world around me and am constantly looking for new ways to respond to the things I learn by observing. My excitement about my findings makes me want to share what I learn with others. I invite you to join me when you can, and hopefully you too will find new ways of seeing the world of plants, flowers, animals and seasons under our feet and all around us. I don't want anyone to miss the small gifts we are blessed to receive.
