My favorite subjects to paint and draw are the landscapes and people around me. I love the vibrancy of color found in both oils and acrylics. However, I also enjoy the challenge of drawing graphite portraits—turning people’s favorite photos into fine art. For me, art is an expression of worship, drawing me ever closer to my Creator. From earliest childhood, drawing with my dad, a self-taught artist, is among my favorite memories. During art school, I worked for a company with a gallery featuring art by Andrew Wyeth, who influenced my love for detail.
My illustrations have appeared in Texas Monthly magazine, as well as various books including The Rest of the Gospel, Thin Within, and The Wisest Gift. Additionally, I wrote and illustrated New Life in Christ, and compiled and designed Alphabet of Promises. My art can be found in public and private collections in Alaska, California, Colorado, Iowa, Texas, Virginia, Oregon, and Washington. A resident of Snoqualmie since 2003, I have been actively involved in promoting the arts and artists in the Valley. I’ve served on the Snoqualmie Arts Commission for over a decade where I have been instrumental in developing Storefront Galleries in which empty storefronts were staged with art. This paved the way for the Finally Friday Art & Wine Walks in downtown Snoqualmie each summer prior to Covid. I also have the privilege of being one of two founding members of the Art Gallery of SnoValley and currently serve on the Board of the Mt. Si Artist Guild.
