Art Gallery of SnoValley Featured Artist, Monica Phillips

Monica Phillips has a B.S. in biological sciences and has recently retired from the pharmaceutical industry to pursue art glass jewelry. She has been involved as an artist volunteer for ArtEast, and currently you can see her most Fridays volunteering at Art Gallery of SnoValley. Her goal has been to fabricate her pieces with minimal use of commercially-obtained components, and has finally achieved this. She makes her own rings, and pendant settings from scratch. She is currently obsessed with two new techniques since the beginning of the year: fused glass faceting and weaving seed bead bracelets using a bead loom. Evidence of both passions are shown in her Art Gallery of SnoValley front window display for the month of September.
