 Minh is exhibiting her new series of paintings from this month at the gallery under the theme “Sunday Picnic: A Tree Series”. Part of the work is featured in one of the two gallery windows in the month of May. Here is what she shares about her new work. I am often fascinated by the dramas put on by the trees outside my bedroom windows. Sometimes they are bare, just existing, as if keeping you company in their silence. Other times, they cheer you up with their glorious colors dancing in the wind. I also enjoy watching their distorted silhouettes and shadows on the ground that seem to say, I am here with you any time of day! When I decided to paint trees for this series, I wanted to focus on how I can convey the life you see in them. While many of these trees were inspired by my collection of photos, some emerged through my playful process. I hope I did capture some of that vibrant life in each painting.
