Toni Hartje (Upside Down Kitty) is a professional artist born, raised, and currently living in the Pacific Northwest. Toni loves nature and when she’s not painting or tending her many flower gardens you can find her playfully walking through forests, along beaches, or exploring the San Juan Islands. She is inspired by her surroundings, whether locally or those found on her PNW adventures and explorations. These surroundings host many varied colors, textures, sounds, vistas, and inhabitants that spark creative representations of nature. Her art depicts the natural word as she sees it; with a twist of punchy colors, curiosity, playfulness, and enchantment. Neskowin Oregon is near and dear to Toni’s heart. It is a little beach north of Lincoln City that has a bunch of character. A freshwater stream meets the ocean at Proposal Rock. At low tide you get to see all sorts of sea creatures: sea stars, anemones, muscles, barnacles, crab, and jellyfish. You might even get to see a sea lion playing in the waves or passing whales. If you are really lucky, the sands might recede into the ocean to reveal the Neskowin Ghost Forest: consisting of dozens of 2,000 year old Sitka spruce stumps. There are cliffs with views of the ocean playfully crashing against large rocks and hiking trails on Cascade Head with amazing views of the Salmon Rivers’ confluence with the ocean. This display contains pieces from Tonis’ newest series: Neskowin. Website: www.upsidedownkitty.com Email: [email protected] Instagram: upside_down_kitty Facebook: Upside Down Kitty |
